Little LA trip with Bdette for Spring Break

We checked Out Magic Mountain and Santa Monica. we enjoyed riding the gold rusher and ninja roller coasters. We also have a supreme funnel cake. We got a special tour of the Santa Monica pier by our friend Elana.

Bernadette and Huxley Statistics

Huxley is almost 4 and he can spell his name out loud and says H U G hug while reading the book Hug. He also says B O B O Bobo and M O M M Y Mommy. He also takes soccer classes and loves to hit balls with a bat
Bernadette turns six; she loses her first tooth and discovers that she can read her own books. First book read by Bernadette out loud is "Fancy Nancy and the 100th day of School"
Huxley rides a bike without training wheels; at 3 years and 3 months.
Bernadette turns 5 and starts kindergarten - she also takes circus classes, loves the trapeze
Bernadette turns 4 - she takes ballet and tap lessons, she can draw stars and hearts and people and lots of other things like letters and writing her own name (the whole thing) she likes to add her fingers and loves her little brother, mostly.
Bernadette turns 3 - night potty trained (except for all of the bed wetting), loves to sing and dance, has favorite outfits
24 months, Bernadette turns 2 - she speaks in english with a few spanish words thrown in now and then. She can run, she's practicing jumping quite often, and is learning that we need to be ready to catch her if she is jumping into our arms from a chair. She wears Elmo panties (very exciting) She loves to watch Dora and Mary Puppins (spelled to her pronunciation). We are working on letting her have free range bed (meaning that she can get in and out by herself - we have mixed success.) She likes to tocuh mama's belly and uses it as a pillow. She loves her Baby Dolls, is very generally aware that she is about to have a baby brother and is generally very sweet with all small babies.
22 Months - Huxley - sorry for the Hux developmental report gap, we've been busy...he tries to repeat everything that is said. He loves saying and collecting snails in the garden. He loves water, sprinklers, pools, swimming, bath - if it's wet, it's good. He sys a very sweet 'roar' when we see a lion in a book and he is on the verge of comprehensible speaking...to us anyway. He loves to run and is really trying to jump ( a couple of months ago he was enamored by any change in altitude be it a curb or crack in the pavement) He thinks that anything Bernadette does must be a good idea (he's wrong). He adores her, but sometimes bites her when he is frustrated. he is starting to complain more assertively if he doesn't want it that way - if only we understood what way he wanted it, that might help. He still uses his sign language for some things
18 months, attempting to dress herself - can pull on her own pants/underwear (more or less), she can unzip her pajamas and take them off, she still enjoys eating crayons, she likes to draw, too...repeats SO many things and says 4 word sentences "Lola collar on her", uses phrases "Key lock door" "in there", "mama do it"...weaned, tells us most times she has to poop and sits on the toilet to do it.
15 months, knows many animals and associated sounds, likes to say the names of people and friends ('tuck' - chuck, cindy, margo, dahlia, may, phi, etc), loves fruit - especially strawberries, blueberries, plums and apples, has favored books ( animal books, red ripe strawberry book, hand hand finger thumb, jamberry)....likes to do things by herself, is fascinated by clips (on backpacks, carseat, etc), large vocabulary is getting clearer to understand, but is probably a foreign language to most listeners, still uses alot of sign language, loves bagels and cream cheese
Huxley 13-14 Months - started walking, uses lots of sign language (dog, bird, duck, please, baby, ball, more, water, food, bed, fish, shoes, socks etc.) Points to his/your nose at request has 7 teeth, seems to say something like "I did it" but for him its a single 2 syllable word.
Bdette: 12 months, uses walking as her primary method of movement, repeats sounds/words often, says mom, daddy, dog, ball, hi, no, milk, more, Tehea (her babysitter's name), new words daily! Huxley: Spurts water out, giggles when the shower is spraying just him, eats everything put in front of him (usually), says 'uh-oh' then intentionally drops Cheerios on the floor, continuing to bite (started last month or the month before - he has strong jaws and sharp teeth), can get on and off the rocking horse by himself.
Bdette: 11 months easily walks holding hands, often walks independantly 5-10 feet, says "uh-oh", puts two signs together like "baby" & "sleep" Huxley: loves to eat sand, sign explosion - though I can't always match the sign to the words, loves the shower and bath and swim lessons, loves to crawl up the stairs
Bdette: 10 months first word Ball Huxley: loves to do the raspberries and click his tongue. Stands up and plays the piano. Says 'duh' - could it be dad or dog?
Bdette: 9 months first steps without support Huxley: maybe signs poo poo and dog. Loves to clap - maybe signing more?
Bdette: 8 months signing, Huxley crawls
Bdette: 7 months solid foods Huxley: Sits - usually without falling, does baby pushups, maybe signs "milk" - I mean, I've identified a 'milk' like sign that he uses. Almost sleeping through the night.
Bdette: 6 months first teeth and crawling Huxley: Sits (sort of - I mean, he falls over sometimes), rolls both ways and holds/grabs objects, and his first tooth breaks the surface
Bdette: 5 months Rolls both ways Hux: Eating food and has rolled a few times
Bdette: 4 months Rolling over and Sitting up Hux: smiles and coos and poos in the potty like a champ
Bdette: WAB 7lbs 13 OZ Hux: WAB 8lbs 6 Oz
Bdette: TOB 20:25 PST Hux: TOB 15:44 PST
Bdette: LAB 20.5 inches Hux: LAB 22 inches
Bdette: DOB 4/29/2006 Hux: DOB 7/05/08
